Cooking Well Isn’t Enough Unless You Do It in Style

Leather apron with the Novara Outdoor Kitchens stamp

The title of this new article is in quotation marks because it's a loose adaptation of René Lacoste's famous line: "Playing and winning is never enough if you don't do it with style." We've borrowed it because it defines Novara perfectly: efficiency, durability and high technology, yes, and the best of it, but never at the expense of design, which is part of our foundation, too.

Some time ago we discovered a maker who applies this same philosophy to his craft and who, on top of that, makes products closely tied to food: Fernando Brambilla and his brand of signature aprons, Bramby Supply. Even though our products are very different, the way he works on them, from the initial concept to the last detail, has a lot in common with ours.

That kinship grew into a collaboration: every Novara kitchen purchase comes with a free Bramby apron. And more than a courtesy, it’s a symbol: that of people who understand that design is meant to last.

An apron built to last a lifetime

Bramby is pronounced with a Yankee accent, and its aesthetic makes that clear. Its founder, Fernando Brambilla, left his native America behind to settle in the Pyrenees, where he began designing aprons built around one clear idea: durable, functional, understated pieces for people who work with their hands, value things done right and need gear made to hold up.

Made with fabrics like Japanese denim, waxed canvas and vegetable-tanned leather, the aprons are stitched to last, age well and gain character over time. Built for a lifetime. Their look takes us back to the American Old West: a modern ranger air that doesn’t try to stand out but is always ready.

And although this figure might seem foreign to Mediterranean culture, he turns out to feel deeply familiar in his sense of freedom, his determined aesthetic and the way he adapts to his surroundings.

Which Bramby apron is ideal for each Novara kitchen?

With two brands this much alike, it’s easy to create a set of pairings between their offerings. Here’s our winning combination:

  • PURA: clean lines, pure white, visual lightness. It pairs with the black waterproof model with natural leather straps, which stays elegant even on rainy days.
  • N3 in oxide finish: mineral character, earthy textures, restrained volume. It would be ideal with the raw canvas apron with aged leather: warm, handcrafted, uncompromising.
  • Lacquered system in anthracite gray: technical sophistication, understated presence. It would pair with dark denim with visible stitching, for those who cook with a steady hand and love plating dishes with an architectural flair.
  • Any Novara model, but set in a lush, leafy garden: blending in with the surroundings. Here the moss green waxed canvas model rules, discreet and completely true to the nature around it.

More than a promotion, a statement

Including a Bramby apron with every Novara kitchen is, quite simply, a matter of consistency. Because if we design kitchens that last for decades, that resist water, sun and wind, that don’t age or fade, we need accessories that measure up. Finding them isn’t easy, of course, but as Bramby would say: this ain’t our first rodeo.
